Session Objectives:

  1. Brief review of best practices for driving following stroke/TIA
  2. Practical strategies to know WHEN and HOW to address driving after stroke
  3. Overview of the legal/professional requirements for reporting drivers to the MTO
  4. Condition reports the MTO: How to complete them and what happens next
  5. Case Review

 

April VanderVeen, has worked as an occupational therapist on the Integrated Stroke Unit at Grand River Hospital since 2013. April is also a PhD Student at Western in the Faculty of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Her research interests include addressing driving in the acute care context, and return to driving after stroke.
